Business Model Canvas vs. Lean Canvas.
Lean Canvas is a product from Spark59
http://leancanvas.com/

This is discussed heavily in the Running Lean book, Ash Maurya the author feels this canvas is more appropriate for Lean Startup vs traditional businesses.

Go Lean

Just wanted some free Lean Startup Tools (free for limited users/usage)

Kanban – leankitkanban.com – limiting capacity planning tools

Funny I think I saw a post from Meebo about how Kanban was helping their Dev team today.

Business Model Canvas – bmstack.com – method of defining what your Business Model is without a full business plan. Great if you are shifting that frequently not having the extra overhead of doing a full plan rewrite with every shift.

Rochester Tech Startup Meetup – March 2012

The meetup organized by Terran and Lail is a great thing for Rochester area startups and those hoping to be one. We had the opportunity to participate in “Quick Pitch Night”. This was our first pitch. Melissa and I presented jointly which worked out pretty well. We received really positive and constructive feedback on the presentation and the Flower City Families project. It was a great thrill and thank you to all that attended for the feedback, even more for those that took the time after the event to share more detailed thoughts and discussion. We look forward to participating in more  events soon.

Launched

Monday night we launched Flower City Families our first project. Do you have a family or know a family in Rochester? We’ve put together a platform that we think will support interactions that families need to make informed decisions. We are calling for content contribution from the community. Thanks hope to see you on the site.

New Year – New Site

Happy New Year!!!

We are rapidly approaching launch of our first product, a niche social network/resource. We have just a couple technical tasks and some content. Looking forward to getting this launched and introduced to a network of trusted users. I believe this before the end of the month and perhaps before the next Rochester Web Startup Meeting. Stay tuned to this, site or @RedOwie on twitter.

We’ve been using Asana to track tasks and its really helped having a good tool for free (free for under 30 users). I’ve used Jira, Basecamp, and others and its a nice blend of simple with extra more robustness if/when you need it.

Best,

Tim
